A few years ago, during intermission at the San Francisco Ballet's Nutcracker, I was lucky enough to go backstage and meet Helgi Tomasson. There was still "snow" all over the stage from the snow scene. He told me that he made his snow scene filled with lots and lots of snow to remind him of Iceland. Now, every Christmas, when I'm in Iceland and I see the snow falling, I imagine I am dancing in Helgi Tomasson's snow scene. { Photography by @balletzaida }
