Photo by ST Shaw during the approach to Middle Triple Peak in the Kichatna Spires, Alaska. In 1991 we skied in for the second ascent of this seminal route, featured in the book "50 Classic Climbs". To increase the fun factor we chose to ski in from Rainy Pass in early April before breakup. ST snapped this pic as we made our way into the mysterious Kichatnas. I'm reminded of John Muir's quote "The mountains are calling." Whenever civilization gets too heavy I head to the hills. And after a bit of excitement and getting humbled by the forces of nature, I return happy and with a refreshed sense of purpose. #TBT #neverstopexploring @ザ・ノースフェイス
