I sometimes want to kick and scream in frustration because the majority of my earthly possessions are stuck 2,500 miles away in a Toronto storage facility. Each time I need that gorgeous sauce pan... Or when I long to sit at my desk or burrow in my old duvet... But on these nights leading up to Christmas, with my hands stiff with clay and my eyes blurred with childlike focus, I count our blessings until I run out of numbers. Because being forced to create our decorations this holiday season is not a curse. It's an opportunity to create something that's just ours, that will nestle in our branches forever and remind us of that time when we lived in that tiny house by the beach... The one with only one pot... The one where we started our life together. xx.
