1998: A #London taxi is painted in honour of the first edition of the Lonely Planet’s London Guide. Typically taxis were all black with no special paint jobs. The LP taxi was originally supposed painted for one year -- but years later, founder Tony Wheeler saw it driving by while trying to hail a cab from a theatre in Soho!
