It's Gratitude Monday!! Today I am grateful for family. My crazy, messed up, complicated beautiful family. I said goodbye to one of my sisters today as she went back to Switzerland where she lives
(I have one brother in LA, a sister in Basel, two sisters in Stockholm and one sister in Sigtuna. Plus a couple more, married into the family). I had lunch with my grandma and grandpa on my dads side who after 20 years apart now have become the best of friends. Spent the afternoon with mormor, grandma on my moms side, who just turned 82 and is as sarcastic and funny as ever. She is insisting that we get married on her birthday (because it's the best day EVER) and that she gets to be a bridesmaid ("just roll me down the aisle!"). For my birthday she gave me two brass candle holders that belonged to my great great great grandfather. This whole day just feels so important I can't explain it.

Now driving to dinner with my dad, sister, cousin and fiancée (who, against all odds, loves my family and is wishing we lived in Sweden). Conclusion: I am grateful. For you.
