Ten weeks after the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, the Marine Corps took the lead and conducted the initial push into Afghanistan. The Corps sent in six CH-53E Super Stallion helicopters with Marines ready to fight for their nation. Ten years later, motivated Marines are still present in Afghanistan — our mission has evolved, but our dedication has not wavered.
