Tonight’s ceremonial first pitch was thrown by a robot controlled by a 13-year-old boy with severe aplastic anemia 1,800 miles away in Kansas City. It was the first telerobotic first pitch in Major League Baseball history. After the first pitch, Ryan Cook approached the robot to address the boy.
