A friend from Australia just told me that my video "It Could Happen To You" was in her newsfeed, but it wasn't the YouTube link. Someone in Asia downloaded the video and uploaded it directly to their personal Facebook page. The same thing happened just a few weeks ago on a young mans page in Ireland. I never imagined that a year after posting my Youtube video that it would take off, have a life of its own, and be shared almost 500,000 times on Facebook. My original YouTube video has reached almost 4 million views and has been re-uploaded and translated into a dozen different languages. It's truly remarkable how social media allows us to easily share our stories and connect with each other all over the world. I think it's quite obvious that regardless of people's sexual orientation, religious views, ethnicities, or the country they call home, the one thing that connects us all, is love. This might sound cheesy, but I believe it to be true. I believe that's the reason the video has resonated with so many people and has been shared as much as it has. Who would've ever thought that just by posting a video on YouTube and sharing my story, that it would be seen by so many people? In the end, it's not the amount of shares or views that matter, but the reminder that together we can make this world a more accepting place. One in which everyone is treated equally. I'm sorry for the long note. Thank you for your continued support. You have given me strength and hope when I have and continue to need it the most. #equalloveequalrights #bridegroommovie #tombridegroom #itcouldhappentoyou
