As requested, here are the before & after versions of my most recent post (very poorly lined up, I'm afraid). Seeing as how I'm not a photographer, I don't really feel that it's my place to offer tips. But as an avid Instagrammer, I think I can offer this bit of advice: Focus! You can fudge a lot with an edit but an out-of-focus shot is a tough one to repair, and it's something I consistently have trouble with. My hand's not very steady and I rarely slow down long enough to brace my phone against anything, but I typically snap virtually the same scene four or five times -- sometimes even more -- and that definitely improves my odds of getting a decent (or decent-ish) photo. Also? There's no need to tap the iPhone's shutter button. It's the act of *lifting* your finger off the button that takes the photo. With this trick, you can more easily capture time-sensitive moments (like a bird in flight or a drop of water). Plus, it helps keep your phone steady, thereby improving that pesky focus.
