Before forming in 2008, all three members of Fun. were part of other bands. Nate Ruess was the singer for Arizona band, The Format, Jack Antonoff was the lead singer for the New Jersey rock band, Steel Train and Andrew Dost played several instruments for Michigan based band, Anathallo.
