Jamie Woolford was part of a ska punk band called Animal Chin and Rory Phillips was one of the singers of The Impossibles; both bands signed to Fueled By Ramen in the mid 90's. After the break up of both bands, Jamie and Rory joined forces to form The Stereo in 1998. The band had four releases with Fueled By Ramen.
