Whenever you're faced with a situation that throws you off track, something negative or something you don't know how to handle - don't panic. Don't allow the mind to take over. Try to see the situation for what it really is: a situation. There are no problems in life, just our ideas about and reactions to what comes our way. Nothing will ever be a problem unless you allow it to be. The next time you're feeling unhappy about a situation you're in: Close your eyes. Notice what it feels like to be in your physical body, right here, right now. Feel the shape of your body, the clothes on your skin, the earth beneath you. Take in the sounds of your surroundings, without judgement, without expectation. Really listen. Feel the silence and the empty space behind every sound. Begin following the flow of your breath slowly. Notice where the breath originates from and where its directed inside of your lungs. Meditate on the slow rise and fall of the belly with every cycle of breath. As your breath calms down, so will your body, and eventually your mind. Create space for stillness in between your thoughts. Now, take loving action. You know what to do.
