Someone once described grief as the act of letting go. Hands Up To The Sky is a song that came from a moment for me during the midst of the pandemic, grieving the death of my biological father and feeling isolated from those I loved. There was a moment watching my first live music in 2 years. I had been feeling, sadness, shock, numbness, denial and some anger all rolled into one. While the band played I closed my eyes, threw my hands up, sang along at the top of my lungs and felt a wave of tears, sweat and heartbeats pound away as I let go of a lot of what I had been holding in my heart, mind and limbs.
This song is what I felt in that moment and the joy I experienced after that moment of letting go.
I hope that wherever you are in life right now that this song can serve you in your moments of big emotions!!! Laughter, tears, grief and celebration A reminder that no matter what it is…you got this!
There’s never a bad time to turn up the music, throw your hands up and dance out whatever is weighing on you!
It’s actually what music is created for. 🙏🏽❤️🙏🏽😊
