Forest Global Earth Observatory (ForestGEO) is a global network of forest research sites and scientists who are active in 77 forest research sites across the Americas, Africa, Asia, Europe, and Oceania. That's seven million trees!

Every five years, scientists conduct a survey of their research site to assess the long-term health of the forest. In Front Royal, Virginia, our census team just finished their survey of over 50,000 trees! This data will help our researchers understand the health and wellbeing of this specific forest and get a better understanding of how climate change is affecting the planet.
