Today is the four year anniversary of BUB’s Departure. It’s a very difficult day for me, and I don’t like to think about the details of how everything transpired four years ago. Instead, I think about what this little critter meant to me, to the hundreds of thousands of people that loved her as much as I did, and remember how such a small and seemingly helpless ball of fur could have such a huge positive impact on the world and on the lives of so many. I remember how she was completely unable to walk by the time she was only one year old and how she used her science and magic to find a way to thrive against all odds. Her determination and perseverance were her greatest assets, and she continues to inspire and motivate me every day.

Please enjoy this video of her first time climbing a full set of stairs and then trying to get back down them all in the name of food. Whenever I feel like I can’t accomplish something big, I picture that I’m BUB and that the thing I want to accomplish is a bowl of food, and then I never look back.
