All five living first ladies paid tribute on Tuesday to former first lady Rosalynn Carter, who died at 96 last week at her home in Plains, Georgia. She was the wife of former President Jimmy Carter.

Jill Biden, the current first lady, was in attendance at the service in Atlanta, as were former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and three other former first ladies: Laura Bush, Michelle Obama and Melania Trump. It was the first time since George H.W. Bush’s funeral, in 2018, that all of the living first ladies had been in one place. Jimmy Carter emerged from hospice care to honor his wife and partner of more than three-quarters of a century, who was the nation’s first lady from 1977 to 1981.
