Most of the attention was directed at its aggressive styling (including a 32-degree rake and a 71.2-inch wheelbase--the longest of any production Honda motorcycle), but unlike many chopper-style machines, it offered the performance and reliability for which Honda products are known. One of the first motorcycles to be produced in Honda's Kumamoto factory, the Fury (also known as the VTX1300) looks like something that could have rolled out of a high-end custom shop. The 1,312cc, 52-degree, fuel-injected, air/liquid-cooled V-twin engine offers impressive torque and a throbbing exhaust note, and the shaft drive (unusual on customs at the time) is cleanly integrated into the bike's design.
