I mean talk about a finale! ) and the hedonistic days of Studio 54, it was a collection of sex and high octane, minimalist glamour! There were also elements of militarian ( every designer was seemingly influenced by the military for FW 96 ) and masculine detailing, resulting in some super sleek suiting options ( note, suiting of the super sleek, sexy, variety), and sumptuous furs to keep those bare shoulders warm when exiting the club during the wee hours of the morning. The most memorable look of the collection would have to be that incredible ruby red, velvet suit ( look 39, as modelled by Trish Goff), worn by Gwyneth Paltrow on the 1996 VMA Awards red carpet, and lusted after by every woman ( and Gay Man ) worldwide! The campaign, staring "Gucci Girl" Georgina Grenville, is one of my all time favourites.
