In 18 years of touring, I have never canceled one show due to vocal issues. I have always pushed my way through because I never want to let you down, but If continue to do that right now I could cause irreparable harm to my voice. I caught a virus a few days ago, which caused my throat to tighten up an hour before our set. It was the most painful performance of my life. I pushed too hard and barely made it through the show. I wouldn’t have made it without you all singing so loud. Thank you dearly for that. Since then, I attempted to battle through two more shows, hoping I’d get better. However, my voice is getting worse. After consulting with my vocal trainer, we have made the impossible decision to take some time to rest my vocal cords. We are deeply sorry. We know the sacrifices you have made to attend our show, and it kills us to let you down. There’s nothing more we’d rather do than play a show for you, but I have to listen to my body right now so we can make more memories together. We love you all and appreciate your unwavering support.
