Nearly 300,000 Jews showed up in Washington DC to show support for Israel in their devastating war against the terrorist organization, Hamas; and to condemn the explosion of anti-Jew violence, rhetoric , and graffiti since the largest mass slaughter of Jews since the Holocaust. It was healing and empowering to be in community with my Jewish brothers and sisters, and to be a part of a peaceful rally. No signs or screaming words of hate against the Palestinian people. We, instead, recognized the terrible suffering of the innocent Palestinians. Members of Congress expressed their complete support of Israel’s right and duty to dismantle Hamas, which would make a long wished for peace, possible. We prayed for Hamas to release the hostages, which would result in an immediate cease fire. We sang the Israeli national anthem, Hatikvah, which means Hope. Thank you to every single person who made yesterday so very beautiful.
