I only told a few people I was so devastated of all the training I’ve done for the marathon. I was super heartbroken and depressed. For a few days i could barely walk, I was going to PT everyday, massage, doctors anything to speed up the recovery process. I couldn’t walk much without having to sit down. I came to New York early to see a specialist @doctorgsports to see if there was any hope I could run. The way I was hobbling around the city chances looked very low 😂 Previously My goal for this marathon was to finish at 3:45/4 hours but that was out the window. I told myself just finish it. It was the deepest I’ve ever done mentally. I was in pain every step and kept thinking next mile it will go away. I was in the PAIN CAVE😂🤣 i just kept focusing on the ground and one step at a time. I did so much positive self talk the whole way. Around mile 20 i was starting to hit a wall and all of a sudden i ran into my friend @kthoff7 and she gave me the boost of positive energy. We ran the last 6 miles together smiling laughing and she kept pumping me up. when i crossed the finish line i was so proud of myself for pushing through and digging deep. I’ve always believed it’s so important on how you talk to yourself and what the mind has control over and yesterday proved that to me.
