And so I quit everything and bought a one way ticket to LA. There was an independent short film that was casting and it was starring the phenomenal @sonalshahofficial from Scrubs. One of the very few female Indian characters on mainstream tv. I couldn’t believe it. It was to play her arch nemesis. I met with the director but they chose someone else… until that someone else had a last minute scheduling conflict. The day before they were going to shoot I got a call. I went from being a bench warmer to having a role in a little movie with one of my idols. This is the one photo that exists of the day we met. We were waiting in a makeshift green room in a house in West Hollywood. We became instant best friends. Instant. We have held each other down now for over a decade. Through all the ups and downs of life and relationships. She is a true ride or die.
