On this day in History - October 31, 1941, Mount Rushmore National Memorial was declared a completed project.

Beginning on October 4, 1927, four hundred workers sculpted the colossal 60-foot-high carvings of US Presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln to represent the first 150 years of American history.
