The Seiko Ref. 6139. Back in the 1970’s, Swiss watchmakers Heuer and Zenith had taken hold of the entire sports watch industry with their well-publicized race to become the first to produce an automatic chronograph (then a bit like the race to develop the smart phone). It’s been debated who won, but in the background of the skirmish, Seiko quietly created their own, beating the Swiss at their own game. During the early months of 1969, Seiko put the final touches on its revolutionary 6139 chronograph, and the Japanese company began placing the 6139 in automatic chronographs as early as January of the same year, and would eventually put out a wide range of models with the movement, to include mine. #newhobby #watches #seiko」10月29日 7時30分
