My parents took me out of New York at 12 years old and brought me to Arizona which absolutely never felt like ‘home’ to me. I resented them for it &I ran back to New York at 19 but it just wasn’t the same. Tried California for 3 years .. still nothing. I moved back to Arizona and lived near my parents for another 2 years.. Was happy to live in the same state as my parents but I was still miserable. Then a year after I gave my life to Jesus - I was put in a position where I had to make a choice between something that I really wanted and something that I knew God was calling me to let go of. It was one of the hardest decisions I ever had to make when it came to denying myself and choosing God and when I tell you the most amazing thing that has ever happened in my entire life came from it. I’m so glad I walked through a really tough door into what God had for me which was so much better than what I thought ‘I’ had for me. One of the things that was on the other side of making that hard decision was my entire family moving to Florida. Which I never even thought in my wildest dreams would ever be a possibility. If you have an area in your life right now where you are ignoring what you know God wants you to do.. walk through that tough door.
