ホテルからほど近い平安神宮の大祭である、時代祭。毎年10月22日（雨天順延）に予定され、今年は晴天の中行われました。
京都が培ってきた伝統工芸技術の粋を、動く歴史風俗絵巻として披露され、各時代行列に使用する衣裳や祭具の一つ一つは、厳密な時代考証をもとに作製されたものです。
行列は、明治維新時代から平安京にさかのぼり、歴史と伝統の都・京都三大祭の一つとして、京都の秋を代表する祭です。

The Jidai Matsuri, the great festival of Heian Shrine, is held every year on October 22 (postponed in case of rain).
The festival showcases the best of Kyoto's traditional craftsmanship as a moving picture scroll of history and customs.
Each of the costumes and ritual implements used in the procession was created based on rigorous period research. The procession dates back to the Meiji Restoration period and Heian-kyo, and as one of the three major festivals in Kyoto, the capital of history and tradition, it is one of the most representative autumn festivals in Kyoto.
