It was totally spur of the moment. I was in LA on a 3 day work trip and had a day off in the middle. I was like “J - we should totally go to Disneyland on our off day”. And he was like “Or we can go get married in Vegas??”. Immediately my heart was like - YES! But my head was like - let’s put a test in place to make sure our timing is right. The two of us decided we wanted to road trip to Vegas that night in a black corvette and that if we could find someone in LA to rent the car from who trusted us to drive it all the way to Vegas and back again, it would mean our elopement was meant to be. Long story short - the first TURO call we made was an immediate yes and so we left LA in a black C8, drove 5 hours to Vegas, got our marriage license at 10 pm, and married each other in a hotel room at the Wynn at midnight. It was MAGIC. Ever since we’ve dubbed the black corvette our sign from Heaven. When we spot one on the interstate, or in a driveway, we take it as a premonition that something wonderful is on the way. We wrote this one to pay homage to a night we’ll never forget.
