Today in 1964, The Beach Boys released their first live album, Beach Boys Concert. Their third album of the year became their first No. 1 album, hold down the top spot for four weeks. It was recorded live at the Memorial Auditorium in Sacramento CA, it’s one of the few live documents of the original lineup, with Brian about to vacate his position in the live group. Brian took over on drums for the Dion cover, “The Wanderer” when Dennis sang lead.
