#MameKurogouchi again merged its interest in traditional Japanese technique and contemporary cool. Billowing, drop sleeve robe-like dresses were embossed with swirling stems and leaves — and so was the more casual denim. Motifs from Nihonga, or traditional paintings, were woven into turtlenecks. It was a collection that celebrated the past and welcomed the present.
