WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY is about raising awareness of mental health and driving positive changes for everyone. 

Today we celebrate Blue Spaces!

These bodies of water can play a significant role in supporting our mental well-being. 

Many scientific studies have established a strong connection between exposure to natural blue spaces and reductions in psychological stress. 

In water our minds relax and we can find a meditative effect that can help reduce anxiety, improve mood, and encourage mental clarity.

Safely submerging in these spaces can be grounding and may release endorphins, our body’s natural mood lifter. 

Even in an urban space, just sitting listening to the rain, finding a moment to sit in a park can help us feel calmer.

Try practising a moment by moment, non-judgemental awareness of sitting by or being in a blue space. This can be used as a stop point to calm down our busy minds. 

By closing your eyes and observing your breath, listening to the sounds around you and feeling the elements on your skin, being grateful for each nourishing breath entering and exiting your body can help you engage with our one precious world in a new way! 

- Remember - talking to others is a great step towards help your mind, so if you are experiencing a mental health challenge, a small step today could help make a big change this tomorrow.
