Wishing a happy birthday to Douglas Gordon, who was born on this day, September 20, in Glasgow, Scotland!

On the occasion, we are looking back at the artist’s take over of the Piccadilly Lights advertising screen in London’s Piccadilly Circus for Cultural Institute of Radical Contemporary Art (@circa.art). The project took place in December 2022, in conjunction with the artist’s solo exhibition “Neon Ark,” at Gagosian, Davies Street, London.

Gordon took over the Piccadilly Lights advertising screen, as well as a global network of screens in cities including Berlin, Melbourne, Milan, New York, and Seoul, nightly for three minutes at 20:22 (8:22pm) throughout the month, with his new film, “if when why what.” Follow the link in bio to learn more.
