It's an odd one, not the most listenable of the bunch, and it's kind of impossible to play--young Kaki with lots to prove wanted to make sure everyone listened to it. It is a technical beast and it's cringey watching myself push the bpm as things get more difficult. But I have been wanting to remaster it this year and play it for you for a year and it's finally time to activate the muscle memory. I went to the Staples in Union Square in college and I think they were running a deal on business cards. You could get something printed in all four corners. I had my name, my phone number, and an NYU email address. No other relevant information to speak for. So I had them type "Everybody Loves You" in the fourth corner, just in case whoever was receiving my card could have a nice message in their day. Why did I even need a business card? I wasn't exactly doing a lot of networking in 1999. What I find fascinating is that as much as things have changed, the size, shape, stock, and information on a business card hasn't really changed much. And I'm sure to have a few at the end of every tour from promoters, hotel concierges, tattooists, guitar builders, or anyone doing anything and hoping to be in touch. Everybody Loves You.
