Olympics in Reel Life - A Festival of Films and Photographs is a first-of-its-kind festival that will take place in Mumbai from October 1 - 7, 2023 and in Delhi from October 7 - 14, 2023 in collaboration with BookASmile - the charity initiative of BookMyShow, BMC, UNESCO Creative Cities Network, Qube Cinema Technologies, and Abhinav Bindra Foundation, partnered by the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in Mumbai and India International Centre (IIC) in Delhi and produced by Hyperlink Brand Solutions. The unique festival will have 3 strands which will include: a festival of 33 Olympic films by renowned filmmakers including Kon Ichikawa, Milos Forman, Leni Riefenstahl and Carlos Saura and 10 series from the Olympic Channel; Olympism Made Visible – selected works from an Olympic Museum international photography project to explore the role of sport in society and as a catalyst for social development and peace by renowned photographers Poulomi Basu, Dana Lixenberg, Lorenzo Vitturi; and India’s journey at the Olympics showcased through iconic photographs that will shine a spotlight on Indian sportspersons at the Olympic Games over decades that will be displayed at prime locations across Mumbai in a tie-up with the BMC. Highlights of the festival include the unveiling of Poulomi Basu’s stunning photographs recently shot in Odisha being displayed to the public for the first time and workshops to be conducted by celebrated photographers Dana Lixenberg and Lorenzo Vitturi who will be travelling to Mumbai for the event.
