While Jordan took a a few photography classes in high school and college, he really fell in love with the it when he started regularly traveling to hiking destinations in Arizona, like Flagstaff, Tucson, and Sedona. “I wanted something better than my phone to take pictures on, as the places I was seeing were inspiring me to capture them and show them to people in my life. And my love for photography just grew from there,” he recently shared with T+L. Today, Jordan is a wildlife and adventure photographer based in Tempe, Arizona. . When asked about his approach to shooting, Jordan says, “I look for anything that happens to catch my eye and excite me. In particular, I love going for any wildlife I see. You never know what you’re going to get with wildlife, which keeps things exciting and engaging when you see something you weren’t expecting.” . Jordan’s advice for aspiring photographers: “Obsessing over gear and having the “right” stuff won’t make your photos any better than they already are. Work with whatever you already have and what you can afford. Photography is in the eye, not the wallet. Learn as much as you can because there’s so much you can learn from photography styles that you may consider outside of your niche. Learning will change how you use your eye in so many ways.” . In Jordan’s go-to gear bag, you’ll find a Sony A7III camera; Sigma 24-70mm, Sony 70-300mm, and Tamron 150-500mm lenses; two backup batteries; a few lens cloths; 3 Legged Thing tripod and Silk monopod; Garmin inReach messenger beacon; a one liter dry pack with survival gear for hiking; and a small first aid kit. .
