So many came to love on her-thank you friends. The fear of her upcoming brain surgery and the unknowns around this deadly diagnosis had me thinking this would probably be her last. But as I tell so many now, we don’t know the ending to the story. We are so good at thinking of the worst. Perhaps instead let’s focus on what we want instead. Why can’t your loved one be the exception or the miracle? I eventually shifted into that mindset and I believe it helped. I’m so grateful my mom showed me how to face brain tumors and cancer with a smile and positivity. With hope. We have such powerful minds let’s focus them in the direction we want to go! There’s a great quote I love that says everything you want is on the other side of fear. I believe that. Of course we will all have our moments, but the goal is to shift to what we want. And we wanted a miracle. Mom made it five years. In those years we did so much and said so much. I’m so grateful for our journey. I miss her so much and more so with little athena here. I think of how she would have squished her non stop. I hear her telling her I love you on repeat. We honor my mom daily by kissing her photo and telling her we love her. Today even more.
