Join us for an evening celebrating Latin American culture through food, performances, music and art.
Go on a culinary journey with Empanada Che’s handmade Argentinian empanadas. Newtown’s Mexican courtyard diner, Maíz Street Food will also be serving Latin dishes and cocktails on the evening, while Frido Cacao will be hosting cacao tastings which are sustainably and directly imported from local farmers and grown on agroforests in Mexico.
Learn more about Latin art and food by joining a panel moderated by Ivan Muñiz Reed with artists Nadia Hernández and Claudia Nicholson. Enjoy screenings of shorts curated by Nicholson and visuals by Hernández.
Watch how Afro-Brazilian martial arts music, dance and acrobatics come together in a capoeira performance by Capoeira Topazio Australia or learn new moves in a workshop it is hosting. DJ Oroana will be playing Latin tunes throughout the night.
