“I never thought I’d live in a bungalow, nor in this part of London,” says interiors consultant Sarah Shepherd. “But as soon as I saw this place, I was all in.”
It’s been nearly 20 years since she and her husband, Angus, a director at @powelltuckassociates, bought in their 1960s single-storey home in Dulwich, south-east London. Back then, “it needed a whole number,” says the architect He added full-height windows, sliding doors and introduced a basement, while Sarah decorated the space with her bright belongings and textiles.
Today the home that was once completely off the couple’s radar, perfectly personifies them both. “It reflects who I am as an architectural designer,” says Angus. But it also showcases Sarah’s eye for colour: “I’m very confident with it,” she adds.
