The internet was so, so different back then. Just like all of you, we’ve had to adapt a lot to changing algorithms, different feeds, video content, and new apps. As of late, we are having a tough time with Instagram showing our content to you guys, Doug’s followers. It seems to be a common theme that’s happening with influencers, pet creators, musicians, everyone. Especially to accounts who have been around for a long time. I wish it didn’t, but seeing some pieces of content we are excited about not being seen or getting the engagement they’d use to leaves me feeling like people don’t care about Doug anymore, or that I’m doing something wrong. Our worth should never be tied into numbers and likes and no matter how much inner work I do, it unfortunately naturally comes with the job. I wanted to share these feelings because I know so many people and accounts out there are feeling these same themes of inadequacy. I promise to keep sharing Doug and being creative no matter what the algorithm does - there’s no stopping Doug The Pug and nothing has in the past! Our mission is to spread joy and happiness and the true human connection that all of you have with our baby makes all of this worth it. When you guys come up to us in public and meet Doug these feelings disappear and I just feel immense gratitude that we’ve gotten to do this for so long.
