It’s been on the shelf for almost two years, as we felt it didn’t quite belong with the other songs from EP 1. I remember teaming up with the brilliant songwriter, musician, and artist @raquelcolemusic, feeling inexperienced and vulnerable, but wanting to write a song that captured the freedom and abandon I felt while driving with Nate through the vast & beautiful countryside of Tennessee… such a stark contrast from the 14 years of taxi cabs and subway rides we had experienced in New York City. Our first date night here, we took the doors off the Jeep and drove Hillsboro Road out to @leipers_fork_winery, where we sat on the little front porch with our wine glasses in hand, soaking in the remarkable peacefulness of the quaint town, feeling the autumn breeze and the glowing sunset, toasting to our drastically new, unknown life ahead. It was the opposite of where we had come from. At least we had each other on this getaway adventure, not knowing what in the world was around the corner… yet somehow feeling we were exactly where we needed to be. Home, together, and truly free.
