This year the 72th @PebbleBeachConcours d’Elegance had set up an own class for the greatest French Grand Tourer of the past century, the BUGATTI Type 57. Originally offered in four factory coachwork styles (Galibier, Ventoux, Stelvio, Atalante), the Type 57 chassis soon became available to outside coachbuilders for bespoke coachwork and the most prestigious coachbuilders from all across Europe offered and built some of the most impressive designs ever created.   A selection of them could be marveled at on the lawn with masterpieces bodied by Gangloff, Corsica and Vanvooren, a 1934 Franay Cabriolet, one of just four BUGATTI models ever to be finished by the Parisian coachworks, and two factory-built 1937 Atalante models. In Class K, Bugatti Type 57, the 1st prize was awarded to the 1937 Bugatti Type 57SC Atalante from Switzerland.
