I was scared about splitting my love and afraid that I wouldn’t be able to. Scared that Isabel would feel less than and scared that I would lose myself in some way. Within the first couple of weeks I lost myself temporarily as all mother’s do, but the fear also began to subside. It disappeared as I watched Isabel fall in love with her sister and never leave her side. The first thing she told Mia was, “I’m so glad you’re finally here I love you!” I found myself again as I watched their love grow and realized I gave Isabel something only a sister can. I realized it’s ok to not be enough because no one is and that’s what family is all about. We fill in the empty spaces of each other and make each other stronger.
