One night when Ella-Jay was just born I could not sleep until I wrote this poem down for her, it was a children’s book, I tabled it for years and when I prayed recently for God to “use me” I pleaded “whatever you want Lord” and I heard “how about that kids book?” I was like oh snap!!!! Sometimes He has already asked us to do something and we table it like it’s insignificant. I have no idea who this book will effect or what it’s impact will be, even if it’s just something that fills my own child’s heart, that’s more than enough! I dreamt up these pages with my dear (brilliant talented amazing) friend @shelbywandreystudio and she is bringing them to life because she is Miss Honey on a Willy Wonka mission! I love everything that it is so far and love sharing the making-of process with my daughter (our muse). It’s funny to think I was signed to Interscope Records as a rapper and now I’m writing kids books, but however you slice it at the end of the day I get to be an artist, and for that I am so grateful.
