I would see people barely running down the street or even walking and I would say, “look at those lazy people walking-they should be running”. Last year I was walking through my neighborhood and a young man ran past me and said, “you should be running”. Little did he know, I was dealing with an insane amount of hip pain and I couldn’t run. I silently laughed to myself because that was me making that comment 20 years ago. I was a young kid that felt invincible and I thought I would be forever young. Now with hip issues, I really enjoy walking long distances. Now, I respect everyone’s struggle and I do my best to take the time to get to understand a person and their circumstances so I don’t judge them. I love who I am and I’ve enjoyed learning these life lessons.
