Did you know late July (for the Northern Hemisphere) was referred to as the “Days of the Dog Star” by the Greeks and Romans? During this time the bright star of Sirius aka Alpha Canis Majoris 🐶 appears to rise alongside the sun. They believed the combined heat from these two stars made these days the hottest of the year — our #dogdaysofsummer 🌞✨
