"I remember being in India for personal commitments when fairy season (spring) was on and I wondered if I will ever be able to see these guys in their true colours. I managed to come back just in time and tried my luck visiting Hattah to see these beauties and I guess I was blessed for my efforts. I observed the pair of fairywrens from dawn to dusk raising the young one and taking parenting turns, I moved as little as possible for a couple of hours and let them get used to my presence. Once the light was good enough and as I got an idea of their movements, I anticipated a wooden log with a nice and clean background to create this shot. One particular thing I wanted was to keep the whole bird sharp including the tail, I bumped the ISO during the day and set the f-stop at 8 and since the bird was just tip-toeing around me 1/1250 sec was enough to freeze."
