Chiklis says it like it is. The entertainment industry and many powerful players in it have been hard at work producing for the public a divisive idea of what it’s really like to be an actor, film/tv maker. Most actors/film/tv creators aren’t in this profession to sell us the money machine (sell us insignificant products like perfume, skin care, their homes, clothes, cars and beyond) they aren’t here to glorify privilege, or to constantly showcase the fake glamour that it supposedly takes one to be an actor. They are here for the art. They are here to story tell. To entertain. To connect us all. This bizarre idea that all actors/artists are rich, powerful celebrities has infected the world and this fight is the reflection of the opposite. We are standing up for our craft, BUT, most importantly, we are here for each other. And by each other we mean…all artists in the entertainment industry. As I’ve stated many times in posts before, we are nothing without our writers, crews, teamsters, stunts and beyond. This industry was built and can only sustain itself through team work. I stand with my brethren of artists.
