You see, I endured so much pressure from family & friends about marriage in my 20s that I let it get into my head. So much so, that I ended a relationship and immediately tried to make up for “lost time.” Wild to imagine that at 26 I thought i was “old & that no one would want me.” Well a guy did want me, he also nearly killed me. Now at 39 (in 2 months) I’m smiling from ear to ear. Took me years to stop giving a fuk what people thought about me, about my life and how I live it. Took me years to learn to start loving myself and stop trying to make a guy love me. Two valuable lessons I learned through so much pain.
