Recent studies have shown that especially in the case of black rhino, they use their horns readily to protect their young and defend their territory. It’s mental that we have to intervene at all but there doesn’t seem to be any other alternatives. Horn implanting allows for rhino to exhibit their natural behaviours. Rhinos use their horns for various social and ecological purposes, including defense, establishing dominance, and digging for food. Removing the horn entirely through dehorning can disrupt their natural behavior and may affect their overall well-being. Horn implanting allows them to retain their horn, preserving their natural behaviors. Psychological Well-being: Rhinos with intact horns are less likely to experience social and psychological stress that may result from altered appearances or interactions within their own species.
