To make "Times Zero," Sarah Sze replicated the architecture of this bay in the museum in her studio at a 1:1 scale. As she worked, she noticed how paint dripped at an angle down the slanted platform that connects the bay's back wall to the museum's wall. She later photographed the finished painting and digitally distorted its image in perspective to the incline.

She then ripped the resulting full-scale print and arranged the pieces below the painting—like a reflection in water or an imprint—while the debris was left to overflow at the edge like liquid.

With this fragmentation, Sze explores "how the experience of viewing an image can be one of piecing it back together." #SarahSzeTimelapse
