Something told to us by many Cubans is that all sports are about passion, and boxing in the island is part of a very strong sports tradition. When you see them in action, boxers fight but they also pose. There is love and hate in their fighting pictures, I guess because their passion requires a certain violence, but also a gentleness, a swiftness of movement.

Algo que nos dijeron muchos cubanos es que todo deporte es pasión, y el boxeo en la isla forma parte de una tradición deportiva muy fuerte. Cuando los ves en acción, los boxeadores pelean pero también posan. Hay amor y odio en sus cuadros de lucha, supongo que porque su pasión requiere una cierta violencia, pero también una delicadeza, una rapidez de movimiento.
